There is a big difference between treating the effects and adjusting the cause.
Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession, which emphasises the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.
There is now a significant amount of research that links poor spinal health to poor general health. Chiropractors use a number of techniques to adjust the spine to restore mobility and enhance the function of the nervous system. Your brain is constantly sending messages to every organ, muscle and tissue in the entire body. These nerve signals are then returned to the brain through the same pathway. If this highway of nerve information is kept open your body has the potential to express optimum levels of healing potential. Blockages in this nerve energy from spinal mis-alignments, (or Subluxations) are frequently the cause of common symptoms such as, headaches, shoulder pain and sciatica.
The animation below illustrates nerve impulses being sent from your brain to your body and back again. Chiropractic helps to keep this highway of information open.
How does the adjustment work
A chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic treatment by a licensed chiropractor. Your chiropractor will use a number of techniques to restore mobility and help realign your spine in order to reduce pain and discomfort. Spinal adjustments can also improve nerve communication from the brain to every organ, muscle and tissue in the body.
Chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which trained specialists (chiropractors) use their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of this procedure, also known as spinal manipulation, is to improve spinal motion and improve your body’s physical function.
Our new patient process:
We take all of our new patients through a three-part process:
1
Your initial consultation will include a physical examination, posture assessment and specific nerve tests to establish the health of your spine and nervous system. Some clients may be recommended to have additional imaging studies, such as x-rays and MRI´s taken to make a more accurate diagnosis.
2
We strongly recommend that all new patients watch our pre-report presentation. This online video will prepare you to understand what will be explained in your Report of Findings and will help you to make a more informed decision regarding your health.
3
Your chiropractor will examine your spinal health results and explain your problem and solutions at your Report of Findings. If we are able to accept your case we will provide you with our best recommendations.
There are 3 Stages of Chiropractic Care:
Phase 1- Relief/Release Care
If you are suffering from pain or any other symptoms, our first priority is to make you feel better. Depending on the severity of your presenting condition your chiropractor will usually recommend an intensive schedule of adjustments to stabilise you as quickly as possible. During this initial phase the focus of care is to reduce your symptoms, improve your mobility and the function of your nervous system.
Phase 2- Corrective Care
As you progress into the second phase of care you should be feeling better, or even totally pain free. During this second phase of care the focus is to achieve maximum structural correction that will lead to better long-term mobility and an optimum functioning nervous system. The total duration of corrective care is dependent on the underlying structural problem you have. Usually, you will be recommended an adjustment schedule of x1-2 per week until you reach optimum correction. An average case may last three months, whereas a more complex case could take more than six to nine months to complete.
Phase 3- Wellness Care
Having successfully progressed through phases one and two it makes a lot of sense to maintain your spine and nervous system at the highest possible level. A number of research studies have now shown that there are numerous health benefits that people can experience if they commit to a wellness program of chiropractic care. The summary of these benefits include:
- Significantly improved physical state
- Significantly improved stress levels
- Significantly improved mental/emotional state
- Significantly improved life enjoyment
- Significantly improved overall quality of life.
Wellness-based chiropractic care will therefore become a major component of your overall healthy living strategy.
During this wellness phase you will make less frequent visits as your spine and nervous system are more stable. Your recommended schedule of care will however depend upon the underlying condition of your spine and your personal health goals.
Testimonials
Brilliant service and treatment. Finally, a chiropractor that looks at the big picture and really focus on solving the source of the problem instead of just the quick fixes that last for a few weeks. Excellent treatment and service from the reception and the whole team. I can strongly recommend this clinic.
Daniel has helped me with my old problems (I used to be a professional rider, so I have experienced a few accidents.) and at the moment I train CrossFit actively so my body needs some adjusting here and there. Always very friendly and professional atmosphere!
I have been treated by Dr. Daniel and I couldn’t be happier. I had a back problem and a lot of pain for over a year, undergoing all kinds of treatments. After the first consultation with Daniel I noticed a significant improvement, after a month I no longer have any pain. I recommend him 100% because my quality of life has improved noticeably.
I have seen several chiropractors over the past few years and this is definitely the one I would recommend the most. Not only does he have a good customer service, but he also does a detailed initial analysis that helps you understand your situation as well as the treatment he recommends. After the first session I could already notice an improvement!! They also provide you with exercises adapted to your needs so you can do them at home and speed up your recovery.
